BeanSaver® recycles coffee grounds,

which serves as a valuable raw material for a variety of products.

With an annual consumption of over 66,000 tonnes of coffee beans in Austria, 99% of coffee beans currently end up as coffee grounds in waste. Our aim is to use coffee grounds and silver skin as secondary raw materials for new products.

We are raising awareness of the circular economy by repositioning coffee byproducts —such as coffee grounds and silver skins—as valuable resources .
We are passionately committed to keeping the burden on companies as low as possible and rely on close partnerships to optimize the joint collection and logistics process.
We are continuously expanding our product portfolio, improving existing solutions, and thereby creating additional uses for coffee byproducts.

We collect coffee grounds and repurpose them for further material use. Through processing, new products and additional applications are created for this biogenic secondary raw material.

Fertiliser pellets made from coffee grounds are our first market-ready product. Heating pellets and animal bedding will also be available soon.

Efficient collection and logistics system

By optimising our route selection and combining the various needs of our customers, we can offer customised coffee grounds logistics based on coordinated routes and collection volumes. In this way, we ensure a suitable collection for our customers and a sufficient supply of valuable raw materials for our products.

Innovation and research

Together with our partners from industry, science and research, we are working on further forward-looking solutions such as barbecue charcoal, pet food supplements, oils (H1, cosmetics, leather and wood care), lubricants and biopolymers additives.

Starting now, you can have your empty BeanSaver® packaging refilled with BeanSaver fertilizer at select partner locations. This allows you to reuse the same BeanSaver® packaging multiple times.
